Former exploration geologist. Wants to see pipelines built. Recovering from childhood under Communism. Back in AB after 12 yrs on coast, in Harper’s riding!
I hear it is $25K to get your name on the ballot and if you get so many votes Elections Canada gives $10K back. In Carleton only 4 qualified 87 didn’t. Who paid the $2.5M to put these names on that ballot. There needs to be a full investigation. This is election interference.
I congratulate Prime Minister @MarkJCarney on his minority government election victory last night.
I also want to sincerely thank @PierrePoilievre for his powerful and principled advocacy against the last decade’s punitive taxation and anti-resource policies that have made our country weaker, more divided and overly-dependent on the United States.
Mr. Poilievre’s vision for a safer, more affordable, united and prosperous Canada drove the policy debate in this country for the last several years and has inspired millions to see the unique potential of our nation. While Liberals and New Democrats demeaned and demonized Albertans, our values and our industries for political gain, Mr. Poilievre made empowering Albertans and our energy sector a cornerstone of his campaign. His respect and admiration for Albertans could not have been clearer. He is and continues to be a true friend of Alberta.
As Premier, I invite the Prime Minister to immediately commence working with our government to reset the relationship between Ottawa and Alberta with meaningful action rather than hollow rhetoric. A large majority of Albertans are deeply frustrated that the same government that overtly attacked our provincial economy almost unabated for the past 10 years has been returned to government.
As Premier, I will not permit the status quo to continue. Albertans are proud Canadians that want this nation to be strong, prosperous, and united, but we will no longer tolerate having our industries threatened and our resources landlocked by Ottawa.
In the weeks and months ahead, Albertans will have an opportunity to discuss our province’s future, assess various options for strengthening and protecting our province against future hostile acts from Ottawa, and to ultimately choose a path forward.
As Premier, I will facilitate and lead this discussion and process with the sincere hope of securing a prosperous future for our province within a united Canada that respects our province’s constitutional rights, facilitates rather than blocks the development and export of our abundant resources, and treats us as a valued and respected partner within confederation.
Our government will be holding a special caucus meeting this Friday to discuss this matter further. I will have more to say after that meeting is concluded.
THIS from a citizen who lives in the UK and has experienced Mark Carney. Take a moment to read this brief message and pay close attention to what he has to say.
And Liberals, be careful what you wish for. It just might bite you in the ass.
@liberal_party
I just voted for hope. I didn’t vote for fiscal insanity. I didn’t vote for corruption. I didn’t vote for green bullshit. I didn’t vote for an alliance with communist China. I didn’t vote for the party that brought all of this upon us.
For the love of God, vote Conservative.
I’m a poll denier. These daily push polls are an effort to demoralize Conservatives from voting. As they like to say, the only poll that counts is the one on election day, and that’s when real Canadians show up to show their disdain for the status quo. Let’s go CPC!!!🔥🔥
I read the liberal platform. I know a thing or two about govt budgets having worked for a Finance minister.
This plan will lead to Canada losing its AAA credit rating.
Markets were expecting (wrongfully) something serious to come from an ex-central banker. They were wrong.
And mark my words they will react.
The craziest thing in there is the creative accounting regarding investments vs. spending. Liberals will pretend that "investments" (I presume infrastructure? who knows cause there aren't any details!) don't count in the deficit, and so they will be able to "balance the budget" by 2030.
Unfortunately, their 250 billion dollars (!!) in new spending will still add to the debt. You just won't see it. Canada, in its current state, can't afford this.
As an economist, I honestly was expecting more from Carney.
PPC voters
Canada needs you.
Please consider voting Conservative.
I know its not exactly what you want -- but the alternative is much worse.
The 2-3% of you out there can get Pierre a majority. Lets do this. 🙏
Fuck right off Mark. Seriously. The Liberals have been trying to destroy our industry for a decade. Trudeau is on the record saying "We need to phase out heavy oil". Guilbeault has been shoving NetZero and emission caps down our throats for 5 years. You guys told the Chancellor of Germany that there was no business case for LNG sales to Europe. Bill C-69. The tanker ban.
I've lost count of how many times I've been told by easterners that I was a dinosaur, in a dead industry, and that I should just "learn to code".
So again, fuck off.
I thought Pierre’s answer on climate change last night was brilliant. He said we could export enough LNG to India, switching them off from coal, which would lower global emissions far faster than anything Canada can do at home to reduce emissions. The problem is GLOBAL emissions.

#AlbertaSeparation
Holy crap!!
Mark Carney’s campaign was just asked what country he pays personal taxes.
The answer: they would NOT say CANADA!
🤯🤯
How does one vote for a man with 3 passports, hasn’t live here for 10 years, dodged taxes, doesn’t tell us his conflicts or where he files taxes?!
Carney has really been one of the most aggressively, explictly anti-American prime ministers we’ve had in ages. He relishes the idea not just of resisting Trump, but literally “fighting the Americans.” He speaks of the American people as our enemy.
