This year’s Palm Springs International ShortFest was one for the memory books! When I was an aspiring producer, being a part of the Palm Springs International Film Society was a bucket list dream. This last weekend of June, I had the honor to speak at the ShortFest Forum alongside my fellow collaborators @PRISMindex , @LauraCoover, Jacob Adler and Aiden Kelly - all as passionate as I about bridging tradition with innovation to support the next generation of creatives starting out in short form.
Now more than ever, shorts are getting the attention they deserve — from audiences around the world online, in festivals, and on streamers. Experienced crew is essential to bringing these on-set dreams to life, and I encourage more creatives to explore AI tools that can help communicate their vision and make the collaboration process smoother. Your short is more than a calling card — it’s your chance to show what kind of entrepreneur you are in this evolving industry, and how scrappy and smart you can be in getting your story told.
My heartfelt thanks to Ana Souza for the invitation to join this year’s festivities. And I want to especially thank the great community who came to our panel open-minded, engaged, and encouraged about the future of filmmaking. #promise #palmspringsshortfest
