Gov Dept: *issues recall on 100,000+ cars*

Me: checks VIN on published notice + dealer website and discovers my car is included 😓

Dealer: Contact your local dealer to arrange an appointment for repair

Me: *calls local dealer* My car has been identified as part of the recall

Their own website says to contact them directly if you’ve checked the VIN but they won’t book it in until I receive a letter to tell me to do what I’ve just done?

Meanwhile we still only have one car, can’t park in enclosed spaces, and I’m back at work in 3 weeks 😖

Dealer: have you received a letter? We can’t book it in until you do

*calls customer service*

CS: the letter will contain (PUBLICLY AVAILABLE) info about the recall and next steps (call dealer)
