mind you, she's the first olympic medalist for the us since 2006, first gold medalist since 2002, and the first women's singles figure skater to win two gold medals ever
Eric Dane shares his last words to his daughters in final interview on Netflix:
“I tried. I stumbled sometimes, but I tried. Overall we had a blast, didn’t we? I remember all the times we spent at the beach, the two of you, me and mom — in Santa Monica, Hawaii, Mexico. I see you now playing in the ocean for hours, my water babies. Those days, pun intended, were heaven... When you face challenges, health or otherwise, fight. Never give up. Fight until your last breath. This disease is slowly taking my body, but it will never take my spirit.”
Today while we were at Target checking out, my 13 year old had her own little stack of stuff. Three books and a pack of gum.
I think the cashier looked a little confused because I had a huge grocery order right before her, and then there was my daughter with just those four items. So I smiled and said, “She saved her own money for these. She’s been waiting for them. The book fair at her school was canceled on Friday because not enough kids signed up, and she was pretty bummed.”
The cashier instantly turned toward my daughter and asked, “How old are you, love?”
“Thirteen.”
“I used to love to read and so did my daughter and we shared a love for reading together,” she said.
My daughter started telling her about the books she’s reading right now, and while they were talking I noticed the cashier was on her scanner……looking something up.
She told us the total and I noticed it was way too close to the amount of money my daughter was holding in her hand.
She smiled and said, “Target price matches, so I went ahead and found the cheapest price out there for these three books so you could get all of them.”
The look on my daughter’s face wasn’t just surprise… it was a full heart.
She told my daughter she really hoped she loved the books and that she’d be back soon for more, and I knew without a doubt she meant it.
