Sick and tired of Mail Online attempting to tear people down for the heinous act of aging. Can we normalise similar pieces on the writers and editors who commission these articles, complete with random freeze frames to make people look ‘unrecognisable’?
Re-reading Swallows & Amazons series (like I do every few years). Winter Holiday is such a good one - particularly round Christmas time. Would love to see a film version… as long as they don’t rename Titty to Tatty like the most recent adaptation 🙈📖🎬
YouTube is getting RIDICULOUS. Quick hop on to find a quick crochet explanation (because it’s been too long).
The video itself is 7.24 seconds.
I’ve had to sit through 6 ads to be able to skip to the part I need and now it’s loading another one! 😵💫😤
@ANDYDB7 My first thought really was a ‘reporting your neighbours to the gestapo’ vibe 😕 I get needing a crackdown, but incentives for employees on the customer front lines to reward them for the backlash that will certainly follow - I’m not sure that’s a decision I’d have taken…
It’s been a while since I’ve posted but I can’t leave this one in the ether.
This woman. #GiselePelicot … if I can have even 0.1% of her bravery, her resilience … I’ll be happy.
She didn’t have to make herself public, and she chose to. She chose to stand out and stop this horror.
What. A. Woman. 💙
🇫🇷🔴 French judges sentenced Dominique #Pelicot to a maximum 20 years of imprisonment for drugging and raping his ex-wife #GisèlePelicot and allowing other men to rape her while she was unconscious.
At the end of the trial, Gisèle Pelicot took the floor ⤵️
I think the worst part is the fact the staff recommended posting on Social Media … shows the absolute desperation even they are having with the health/hospital/culture epidemic
A nation opting for a convicted felon, potential rapist… fascist … over a woman… I just can’t. I can’t… 😔
I haven’t had ‘this’ feeling, since I woke up after Brexit.
At least Twitter will be an entertaining place over the next 4 years and the GIF game will be strong…
The moral of this story is that, in democracies, power resides with the people - it is only ever temporarily lent to politicians. There is always another election or a term limit on the horizon. Your vote is powerful - use it and never let them take it for granted.
