@DrEilidhMaria@jim_crawfurd No only allowed dark blues as a 6. But I’d say this is more of a nurse staffing issue and not replacing people leaving. High acuity will have a 6 (itu step down, high care etc). This has been my experience in England and wales over 10 yrs but it’s getting worse
@DrEilidhMaria@jim_crawfurd I’m actually shocked at this, I’ve seen plenty with just an allocated band 5 stepping up to co ordinate over night. More high acuity wards definitely would have a 6, but most from my experience are band 5s overnight. But completely agree those calls were can wait till morning
@mikejwhelan I am so sorry Michael, I am so angry you have fought against everything so hard to get support in a broken system. I’m glad Rebecca has been peaceful. I’ll be lighting a candle for her tonight and thinking of you all from across the ocean xx
@mikejwhelan@tish8532 The truth is uncomfortable and raw, this isn’t reason to stop sharing. Those people are lucky they have not been in a position in their lives where horrors become their new norm. Their uncomfortableness shows us how much is suffered in private when people shouldn’t have to hide.
@mikejwhelan I just wanted to say I’m thinking of you and Rebecca, hoping for some comfort for you both. The world is so cruel and it’s so painful seeing the person you love alive but not living. Sending love to you both
@Seanchuckle Not to mention that if someone wants a "luxury" model or model with adaptations the motability customer has to pay extra for these which is sometimes thousands of pounds - money they don't get back at the end of the lease and potentially have to pay again if getting a new lease.
@Lucyclizine Didn't get engaged until 32, first pregnancy at 32, first child at 33, married at 36... (hopefully) qualified nurse at 39/40 (if my gastroparesis doesnt decide to knock me out for a few months again lol). Youve got plenty of time and can do it in your own time without missing out
@oli_m_sims Im so sorry but I did chuckle at that. Hate those glass vials. Seen many a person injure themselves with them. I managed to completely shatter one not that long ago, no idea how 🤷🏻♀️
@charliersmith1 So glad you've got a team who are seeing you for you! My crisis team would always take me for a coffee, they knew it was important for me to get out and my anxiety would prevent me from doing it. They listened that it was one thing I loved doing ❤️💖
@DrEilidhMaria Saying that, on unit as a hcsw a pt with dementia kept asking for Dr Jelly... we thought this was an error. Turns out Dr Jelly was a community Dr and not an error 🤦🏻♀️
@DrEilidhMaria Also as a student nurse when a patient tells me "Tom" has been to see them, I literally have no idea who I'm looking for to clarify anything 😅 (especially if I am new on placement and haven't met the whole team yet)
@Lucyclizine As we skill up, we stop doing other roles and sometimes doing those old jobs become an important new one. We never stop learning. You'll have plenty of time to practice this, and the fact you're aware of this now means you're gonna be able to step up.
@Lucyclizine During the strikes, we had some fab consultants come to be 'juniors'. Honestly one of the best days I worked. Had one senior consultant come up to me at the desk: I've been asked to write a discharge summary for pt X. How exactly would I go about doing this? He was loving it.
@ejgarner85 I am in awe of your strength and determination. The loss of my twins was what ultimately inspired me to go back into clinical work, but it's also one of the reasons I chose adults. You're going to be such an asset to the unit. I'd be thankful to have you caring for my child
