I have a poem in the new issue of Adroit—alongside work that is fierce and astounding. Excited and very grateful to be a part of this. https://t.co/UFAubw5gHi
I have a new poem out at @TinderboxPoetry, a journal I adore! Thank you to the Tinderbox editors & also to my kids, who sometimes ask me to read & reread & reread very good books. Check out the whole beautiful issue here: https://t.co/cAH5ELDiVa
I've been totally distracted waiting for a baby to arrive, but in the meantime, energized and nourished by this beautiful issue of @CincinnReview. Big gratitude to the editors for including my poem in this volume alongside such marvelous work.
Also, "We Light a Candle," in this issue of Salt Hill, is the first poem from my MFA thesis to appear in print. It feels a little like sending someone off to school for the first time... Be good, little poem! I hope you make friends!
My contributor copies of Salt Hill are taking in some sun after their truck ride from Syracuse. I was stunned to see how beautiful these are, inside and out. Thank you, @salthilljournal, for giving my poem such care, an incredible home, and brilliant company.
"Beside the health center you saw two chairs:
wooden, solid, placed
just so, as in a draftsman’s rendering.
They sat inside a bed of daffodils..."

Sophomores: to close, we return to Thomas Lux for his poem “A Little Tooth.”
I’ll miss you—but here are next steps: check out great poetry podcasts (@slowdownshow for the daily dose @CommonplacePod for the deep dive) & poems that are long, too long for twitter! The world awaits.
Sophomores, today we return to Lucille Clifton for her poem “won’t you celebrate with me.” I’ve loved each poem I’ve gotten to share with you, but we’re almost done with the project, and ending strong! #BuxtonSchool#comecelebrate
Sophomores, we encountered Miroslav Holub just last week, but we’re returning to him for a poem I love: “The door.” And shouldn’t we show some love right now for this amazing poet who was also an immunologist? Enjoy! #BuxtonSchool#openthedoor
Sophomores, today we return to Rainer Maria Rilke for his poem “Archaic Torso of Apollo.” This is one that, when it hits me, really hits me. Enjoy it. #BuxtonSchool#youmust
Sophomores, today we return to Louise Glück for the first section of her poem “October.” This is another poem I’ve loved for years, but I think it hits even harder in this time when the fall—or my god, the winter!—is so difficult to imagine. #BuxtonSchool#winteragain
Sophomores, today’s poem is “Bogland” by Seamus Heaney. I’ve been a Heaney fan for a long time, but it’s only recently that I’ve begun to appreciate the squishy, squelchiness of his poems. Enjoy! #BuxtonSchool#bogs
