More gas will drive up bills & wreck the climate. We need home-grown, green energy - not fossil fuels.
Say NO to new gas-fired power plants in the UK.
Millions across the world have taken to the streets - in Scotland, the UK, USA, in Tel Aviv - and many more countries across the world demanding peace. They are the conscience of our world, I hope they are heard and humanity prevails.
Blessed are the peacemakers.
Nobody crosses the channel in a dinghy unless they are utterly desperate.
We must make the moral case for a humane asylum system grounded in dignity, empathy and care.
The only way we can defeat a politics of hatred is with a politics of compassion.
I sometimes think I can’t be shocked by how cruel, inhumane and just generally vicious anti-trans activists are.
But seeing them kicking off over a Labour MP including a murdered teenage trans girl in a list of women murdered by men underlines how sick and twisted they are.
We are delighted that MSPs have tonight passed the Hate Crime Bill. With hate crimes rising against LGBT people we hope the passing of this Bill sends a clear signal that hatred towards marginalised groups, including LGBT people, is not tolerated in Scotland.
A question for men today:
Do you remember how old you were, or what situation you were in, when you realised that almost every woman you know has been sexually harassed and/or assaulted?
“Text me when you get home safe” is something I say to women I know before we part ways, and I’ve never thought about it. When I’m actually saying is that I worry something awful might happen to them and I won’t stop worrying until I know they’re safe. It shouldn’t be this way.
I’ve never left one of my girlfriends without them saying “text when you’re back safe”, and vice versa.
Fear and hypervigilance is woven into our every day lives. Even if we haven’t been victims of violence ourselves, the possibility of it conditions our every move.
I'm trying to imagine how different things would feel if the government's response wasn't "We will do all we can to protect women" but "We will do all we can to educate/track down/punish abusive men. The focus is now on stopping men - not 'protecting' women."
Calling all graduates and students of community development/ youth work programmes, we're doing a piece of research and would be great to get your input. Any questions just give me a shout.

My favorite line from the poem by @TheAmandaGorman today: “We lift our gazes not to what stands between us but what stands before us.” She is amazing. #inauguration2021
