Reminder that disability is a spectrum. It is sad to see so many disabled people accused of "faking" because they can walk, type, or engage in physical activities sometimes.
@stone_prof Maybe because of different intl/discipline policies? Ex. In some places, you do a BA and MA before you can do a PhD. In others, you do a BA and then enter a PhD program (sometimes with the option of “mastering out”). In the latter case, having the MA may be more competitive.
I’ll be presenting my MA paper titled “Fertility Intentions and Disability in Canada” at the @canpopsoc and @csa_sociology conferences this spring. I can’t wait to finally meet so many talented people in person!
@Audrey006@AcademicChatter Low volume Apple’s “chill mix” and “study beats” for really focused writing. For more menial tasks like citations and formatting, the “always Sunday” Playlist. That one is a certified no skip for me!
@taxaaaaaa@AcademicChatter@ThePhDPlace@PhDVoice@MasterAcademia_ If you already have a iMac at home, the iPad would be better for reading and small bits of writing. That is exactly what I use mine for. I use my iPad and pencil for reading and note taking on articles, some editing, but any serious writing I do on my desktop.
@PainSociologist @wishartae I was able to email a copy to myself to download. Recently had to do this for my SSHRC application. I then had to remove all the security functions from the PDF though, as I needed an unprotected version for SSHRC.
The 2023 @csa_sociology conference at @YorkUniversity is officially accepting presentation abstracts through Jan 31st!
