@dmizzle01@dclivenet No, but Xbox players can play with Gamecube players. All versions can see each other and talk in the lobby, but not in-game unfortunately.
@El_Comanche There is indeed a discord for the server, where many players communicate: https://t.co/YcpDXGU4JH
There is also a forum: https://t.co/6EYlEOzpg7 , although more people are definitely on the discord these days.
Hope you enjoy the server. :)
@dragonminded @GabeMoralesVR @Artemio Yeah, KOS definitely hasn't had support for "years" just yet (can't say 2 years until February). And it is definitely still nowhere near a state that I'd call it "usable" for anything more than the basics of getting something on the screen, as has already been said.
Hope to see some of the Sylverant community at @Otakon this weekend. I will be presenting two panels on Sunday: "That Other Phantasy RPG Series: The History of Phantasy Star" and "By Land, Sea, and Air: The Art of War and Anime". #ConAtTheEndOfTheRainbow
@RetroFaith1@Otakon Sorry for the late reply, but my suggestion would be to drop by the Sylverant Discord (https://t.co/YcpDXGU4JH) and ask for help there. If you'd rather not do that, I can try to help you out here too.
@ONESTARv2 Just normal maintenance. Mainly an upgrade of the OS installed on the server.
As for PSOX, everything is currently in a holding pattern. Insignia is still not open to the public, and we will not be able to open Sylverant for PSOX connections until then.
Sylverant will have a scheduled maintenance period tomorrow, Monday, April 12, 2021 from 09:00 to 12:00 EDT (13:00 - 16:00 UTC). During this time the PSO server and website will both be inaccessible.
The maintenance window may be shortened (that is to say the server may reopen earlier than the schedule above says), if conditions dictate that it can be.
@dragonminded @BobbyDilleyUK I'm just an old-school Dreamcast homebrewer (since 2001 or so), that someone gave a slight push to start looking at the Naomi too.
And now from the "once-in-a-blue-moon not Sylverant related tweets" department... I present an example from KallistiOS (the Dreamcast homebrew SDK) running on a NAOMI 2 arcade board.
@dragonminded @BobbyDilleyUK Hey, it may not have been publicly released at all, but it still counts for running something, of course. :)
Thanks for your work with the Naomi, as your documentation and code have definitely been awesome.
