We had the opportunity to speak with @astro_kutryk during a press conference held following his spacewalk. He shared his impressions of this milestone moment in his mission in the presence of the Honourable Eleanor Olszewski.
@ShannonStubbsMP Strathcona Resources are currently shipping their crude production to the US via rail. They have a rail loading facility capable of loading 250,000 B/D. By lifting the tanker ban no additional production results - only Strathcona Resources get a better price for their crude.
Jasper is known around the world, but for the people who live and work there, it is home. After tremendous loss, the people of Jasper have carried the hard work of rebuilding with strength and determination.
Today, I joined Minister Champagne to announce $520M to help restore critical infrastructure, reduce future wildfire risk, support interim housing, and keep that work moving.
With this investment, total federal support for Jasper is now more than $900M as the community rebuilds stronger, safer and ready for the future.
For my entire life, I’ve been a proud Albertan. I grew up in Medicine Hat, and I’ve raised my family here in Edmonton. That identity as an Albertan has always, unequivocally, been a part of being an equally proud Canadian. We live in an amazing province, with an incredibly bright future, and we do so as a unique and integral part of what I have always believed is the greatest country in the world. As Albertans, we do not need to choose between these two aspects of who we are.
In the face of unprecedented challenges, Canada is building big again and Alberta is at the heart of that vision for a better future. There is work to be done and problems to solve, but Alberta and Canada have always been at their best when we all work together.
While it is deeply regrettable that we are now faced with this question, I have spoken to countless Albertans who are ready to stand up for their country. Over the coming months, let’s talk to our friends, our families, and our neighbours, and on October 19th let’s show that we will not be divided.
Pierre Poilievre is in the news the past couple of days. I think this is his seventh makeover. I lost count.
Meanwhile the actual Prime Minister of Canada is making trade deals all over and he's being noticed. Rachel Maddow is one of the best.

Bloomberg London does what CBC can never do, an informative, intelligent, unbiased, in depth interview of our Prime Minister @MarkJCarney
Rosie Barton should watch this to learn how to interview without talking over or leading in a direction.
Worth watching, PP could not do it
For nearly 100 years, @ckuaradio has shaped Alberta’s cultural life.
Today, our new goverment is investing $10.9M to protect its archives, modernize its studios, and keep Alberta music and stories on the air — now and for generations to come.
This morning, alongside colleagues, I announced the new Prairie Partnership Initiative (PPI) — a coordinated federal approach that empowers @PrairiesCanEN to bring together multiple federal departments to help advance significant, job-creating Prairie projects that fall below the threshold of the major nation-building work.
Rooted in the vision set out by the late Hon. Jim Carr through the Building a Green Prairie Economy Act, the PPI gives Prairie proponents a clearer, more predictable pathway through the federal system — ensuring our regional priorities can move forward faster and deliver real economic outcomes for Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba.
When the Prairies succeed, Canada succeeds. 🇨🇦🗻🌾🦬
The Prairies are ready to drive Canada’s defence manufacturing ambitions.
With @PrairiesCanEN support, the strong defence industry across AB, SK, and MB is scaling up to meet this moment — creating good careers and ensuring the CAF have the equipment they need to keep Canadians safe.
Today I was at CFB Edmonton to highlight the launch of the Regional Defence Investment Initiative (RDII).
This $357.7 million initiative will help Prairie businesses scale up, innovate, and deepen their role in Canada’s defence supply chain — strengthening our ability to deliver Canadian-made capabilities and ensuring the Canadian Armed Forces have the equipment they need, when they need it. 🇨🇦🗻🌾🦬
@politicalham@BrianJeanAB Assuming a new pipeline would have a capacity of 500 kb/d. Today there is spare pipeline capacity and no shut in crude. This means that to justify a new pipeline there would need to be a 500 kb/d expansion of oil sands production. Is there a business case?
From roads and water systems to community hubs, strong infrastructure keeps Saskatchewan growing.
Great to sit down with SUMA, SARM, and provincial ministers to talk about how we can build on Saskatchewan’s strengths and support that growth.
This historic wildfire season we delivered support for communities in Newfoundland & Labrador and across the country — and we’ll be there for the long road ahead.
Thank you to my colleague Paul Connors, MP for Avalon, for raising this important question in the House of Commons today.
