@Nutzypoo_ttv@MLBTheShow They didn't even really patch the issue from what I saw. They just got rid of the reward for winning the championship. I wouldn't call that fixed at all.
@MillsTwitch Maybe I'm insane, but shouldn't the Vintage series be about long term players from X team? Seems crazy to have players like arraez and Robbie Ray for teams they didnt play that long for...
@tielborlis2@Sae1521451@ManaByte I get that its a large step in anti-cheat for sure. Saying it "makes their windows non functional" is a stretch though. Riots did explain how to fix it immediately. Appreciate the good convo though, weird to have no names getting thrown lmao
@tielborlis2@Sae1521451@ManaByte The argument that people are trying to make is that the device is completely and utterly broken (mainly due to Riots "paperweight" comment), however from what I have seen and read, that is not in fact the case. This is simply a hardware ban.
@tielborlis2@Sae1521451@ManaByte I think it is a different argument if the device is permanently broken, in this case they are not, in fact it is easily fixable and extremely avoidable. Is the level of access concerning? Of course. But let's not feel bad for cheaters getting hit.
@tielborlis2@Sae1521451@ManaByte I agree the ability to completely break hardware is a slippery slope. I do think you are misunderstanding what the anti cheat is doing. Companies used to hardware ban people by essentially doing the exact same thing and we never saw this kind of out rage about it.
Everyone knows Scott Foster hates phoenix and Book... hell NBA players refuse to talk about Foster cause they know he will retaliate. NBA gotta get an independent source to look into it, not themselves.
@jpooch21@AndrewLeezus Essentially it is kicking the payroll down the road. Ohtani's 70m is really only 43m a year because of the deferment. Its what allows them to have multiple giant contracts that most teams cannot afford
@jpooch21@AndrewLeezus Instead, it means extremely rich clubs (Dodgers, Mets, Yankees to name a few) can push payroll hits down the road for the next 200 years in order to stay uber competitive and actually save themselves money in the long run
@jpooch21@AndrewLeezus You ate correct the team has to have the money in escrow, but much much less of the contract accounts for the teams payroll. The Dodgers would be SIGNIFICANTLY deeper into the luxury tax without deferment. That doesn't level the playing field.
