On a call with agencies Tuesday, OPM said the new authority is not about mass firings but handling bureaucratic “resistance to policy.”

SCOOP: We got the final regulation on “Schedule F,” revised from Trump 1 to make it easy to fire lots of civil servants.
The proposed rule received 40k comments (all-time high for OPM). 38k were opposed.
OPM will cite “accountability to the president” to justify the policy 👇

NEW: Two weeks ago, a federal court explicitly blocked the State Department from issuing layoffs.
The department continues to march toward those cuts, however, and employees and the union are warning it could happen while the injunction remains in place. State won't comment.👇
BREAKING: The Trump admin has put forward new guidance for federal hiring.
ALL federal applicants must now pick one or two Trump policies "that are significant to you," the applicant, and write an essay about how they would help implement them.

Hi friends! I'm always looking to speak with people who are working at, or recently left Treasury, the IRS and SSA
I'd be so glad to chat completely off-the-record, on background, or on the record. Here's a link to my work: https://t.co/C5nB39yAGG

NEW: The USDA agency that manages avian flu response saw employees swarm to the gov’s “buyout” program. It’s now begging employees to reconsider and stay, but preparing to pause/slow down work if they don’t.
That’s just one agency looking to walk back some recent workforce cuts
NEW: USDA has told its workforce that severe layoffs are coming. DC staff will be hard hit, but regional offices as well. ~100k employees at USDA, so expect big cuts.
At the Forest Service, for example, expectation is 10 ROs ➡️3; DC “hollowed out,” fire division moved entirely
The Postal Service is an essential service for all Americans full stop. I’m proud to be leading a bipartisan group of my colleagues in saying NO to privatization.
NEWS: I'm honored to have been named the most effective Senator for the third time in a row by the nonpartisan Center for Effective Lawmaking.
I’ll keep working to find commonsense, bipartisan solutions and deliver results for Michiganders and Americans across our country.
The President’s executive order stripping federal workers of their collective bargaining rights at agencies like the Departments of Defense, Homeland Security, Veterans Affairs, and Health and Human Services is a betrayal of the hardworking people who dedicate their lives to serving our nation, including one-third who are veterans. This action will make our nation less safe and undercut the critical operations that Americans count on – such as protecting national security, providing care to veterans and responding to emergencies – by eliminating federal workers’ ability to organize for better workplace conditions.
This executive order not only removes a key avenue for federal workers to resolve issues without disrupting government operations, it will also continue to undermine morale and make it harder to recruit and retain the nonpartisan experts needed to effectively protect and serve the American people.
I grew up in a union household, and I know firsthand how unions benefit hardworking families. I call on the President to reverse this order so that our dedicated public servants can continue to effectively provide the services that Americans count on every day.
