Exciting news! Our monthly meetup continues on August 20th. We're thrilled to announce our first speaker, @miraan_tabrez , founder of Hypertune, who will discuss type-safe app configuration. See you there! Tickets at: https://t.co/dVmWLO0n7c
From my experience top graduates in the UK simply don’t believe a startup can be successful unless it’s the next Facebook or Google. They also attribute the success of these companies to luck.
Stanford and Berkeley students start companies at 5x the rate of Oxford and Cambridge.
Why the smartest, most technical people in the UK should take more risk 🚀

10X faster and ~$1850 cheaper using @QuickNode vs. @AlchemyPlatform
Tried using both node providers for backfilling transactions receipts which I needed for indexing @base and was pretty shocked at the difference in costs between the two providers
Here's the breakdown:
I need transaction receipts downloaded for every transaction and for every block ~ 12.5M blocks for Base
Unlike e.g. @infura_io both Alchemy and QuickNode have a convenient JSON RPC method for getting all receipts in a block with a single request
Alchemy has "alchemy_getTransactionReceipts"
QuickNode has "eth_getBlockReceipts"
But here's the difference:
Alchemy charges 250 credits for their endpoint while QuickNode only 20 credits
20 * 12.5M = 250M credits meaning you can download all receipts on Base using just the
"Build" plan which is $50
On the other hand, with Alchemy you need to spend 250 * 12.5M = 3.125B credits, which on the Scale plan will cost you $289 (for the first 1.5B credits) + 1625 * $1 (for the other 1.65B credits) - so $1914 total
So what about the speed of downloading?
Alchemy offers a base throughput of 3000 credits / second compared to QuickNode's 2500 credits / second
But because Quicknode's "eth_getBlockReceipts" is only 20 credits - I am getting approx. ~10X higher throughput
I haven't looked into other node providers - but curious to know how other node providers compare
📢Excited to announce @syve_ai is now part the @0xPolygonEco with our price data API now supporting tokens traded on the Polygon blockchain!
- Added 25K+ tokens on top of the 250K+ already tracked on Ethereum
- Updates ~2 seconds (vs. ~12 seconds)

One of the top 3 predictions for 2024 in crypto data as stated by @andrewhong5297 in his 2024 Annual Guide for Web3 Data Tools - https://t.co/nsYEJrlUOI. Loads planned on @syve_ai's side, stay tuned.
Pretty happy about the performance we have achieved at @syve_ai building with @llambrina and staying competitive with @Bitquery_io@AlliumLabs and other great companies in the space. Credit to @primo_data for the dashboard, source: https://t.co/rEEuqmyykS
