My quick take on Josh Berry not returning to the Wood Brothers: Honestly think Josh got a raw deal here.
With how far off the Fords are right now it's really hard for me to point the finger at any of their drivers or say they're "not getting it done". JMO
The Offensive Line doesn’t need any other position to be good. Every other position needs the Offensive Line to be good.
The most important position group in football.
If @RepoleStable gets rid of the Birmingham Stallions it will be the end of spring football.
• #1 TV market in the UFL
• 3-time spring football champions
• Growth in single game tickets
• Slashed marketing budget
Remove the Stallions, and spring football loses its flagship franchise.
I am hearing from multiple sources within the @TheUFL that @RepoleStable does intend to relocate the @UFLStallions less than one year after saying the following:
"I’m positive as long as there’s a UFL – and there will be – the Birmingham Stallions will be part of it."
The Stallions are moving in spite of the fact that:
- Birmingham attendance did not decline in attendance unlike every other returning market
- Birmingham continues to be the highest local market in TV ratings
- The Stallions on field product was vastly inferior to every other year of existence, which lead to lower attendance than early weeks in the season.
I don't foresee any #SavetheStallion campaign this year. Repole has spat in the face of Birmingham and clearly hates the market. Feeling is mutual.
More will be said in the future but I appreciate all of the Stallion fans, and UFL reporters who did not constantly attack our market.
I think Birmingham Stallions return next season. Low attendance isn’t exclusive to Birmingham. The UFL needs to go back to the drawing board to figure out a marketing strategy that can work in any market. People watch on 📺, it’s about turning viewers into ticket buyers.
Give the Stallions a marketing budget and they will succeed. Look at the facts:
• #1 TV market in the UFL
• 50%+ growth in single-game ticket sales
• 3x spring football champions
Give the right people resources and spring football will succeed in Birmingham.
The Birmingham Stallions missed the playoffs.
But that’s not the story.
The story is how a team left for dead fought back from a 1-4 start, battled through injuries, and gave Birmingham one more season to remember.
