The Kenya Forest Service, Kenya Defence Forces, NEMA and the County Government of Turkana joined hands with "Remember the Poor-Kenya" Organization in planting 258 seedlings at the organisation's compound.

The Government of Kenya is implementing food security, drought mitigation, environmental conservation and blue economy and fisheries projects in Turkana County.
Today, I inspected progress of Napuu Centre Pivot irrigation system in Turkana Central which is part of the wider Government efforts to put one million acres of land under irrigation and create alternative source of livelihood to address perennial food insecurity and contribute to the Bottom Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).
Through Kerio Valley Development Authority, we have put 150 acres of land under food production of crops such as sorghum, green grams, water melon, butternut and pasture for 800 households.
I also commissioned Napuu farm office block, store and distributed fruit seedlings to area residents.
