@NianticHelp Awesome event. Several dozen encounters that all resulted in a waste of golden razzberies and rare candy for Kyurem. I hope you're happy with the profits from this "celebration".
@NianticHelp y'all have broken lucky trades? I've just traded a whole limit + 6 specials. Started with a guaranteed lucky trade. The next and only other lucky was trade number 98 out of 100. Not even 2018 pokemon got lucky. ?????
@transmogen@MaruStanMae This is theorycrafting territory now, I don't believe that would be possible, considering a) an ongoing alien invasion and b) the fact that the Gods were ready to tear the Divine Gate to pieces and start another Calamity within about 3 hours. But it's possible, okay.
@transmogen@MaruStanMae And that's what I mean by "he's the actual main character". Matt's plan for Ludinus was kinda too good. All the party could do is shift a couple of pieces like who becomes the vessel and whether we get a new Calamity or not, but the outcome "dethrone the gods" was inevitable.
@transmogen@MaruStanMae That's what I mean by him winning, it was a chess game where he spent literally half a millenia placing his pieces to make sure there wouldn't be a scenario where the gods would stay in power. They survived, not ideal, but still got demoted to whatever they are now
@transmogen@MaruStanMae Could they? If they left, Ludinus would simply do what he intended to do in the first place. The "preserve the status quo" option was starting another Calamity, which kinda isn't an option at all.
@MaruStanMae@transmogen That's exactly my point. The Solstice was the catalyst. The Solstice events were directly caused by Ludinus and his worldwide propaganda also started then, if I'm not mistaken, with all the towns suddenly showing his ted talk about how the gods are bad.
@transmogen@MaruStanMae I never said about questioning them, I said no one would think to actually do something about it. There are always different opinions, but all except one stayed exactly that. Opinions. Ludinus is that one T.S. Elliot's daydreamer who not only thought, but did something about it.
@transmogen@MaruStanMae At the start of the campaign most of the party either didn't care about the gods or wouldn't even think about changing the current situation. Ludinus's actions not only opened the discussion, but also led to his ideology prevailing in a world that didn't even think about it.
@transmogen@MaruStanMae Quite the opposite, he openly confronted the current status quo, triggering the whole discourse about the gods in the first place AND the changes on Ruidus. No Ludinus = no motivation for Orym, no Imogen and Liliana as powerful pieces on the board and no Fearne as a living being.
@transmogen@MaruStanMae Dead was the ideal option, but not the main objective. He wanted them gone from the power spot, and BH played completely into his hand with it.
@transmogen@MaruStanMae At the same time I agree that the themes of C3 are way more important. However, what we ACTUALLY got from it wasn't the gods thing, they basically turned it into a huge side-quest to resolve Vaxleth (which I'm all for btw).
@transmogen@MaruStanMae Plus Orym and Laudna that's 6 out of 10 characters directly linked in their quests and origins to things we already knew about. Luda wasn't very important in C2, sure, but he dragged all his connections from C2 to C3. And more importantly, he actually won, becoming the main hero.
