GP Inggris = Adu Deployment dan Harvesting Baterai?
Seperti yang dikeluhkan oleh Max Verstappen, Silverstone cukup berbeda dengan sirkuit-sirkuit sebelumnya dalam hal deployment baterai.
Jika dibandingkan dengan Red Bull Ring, Silverstone memiliki karakter yang sangat berbeda dibandingkan. Jika Austria dipenuhi long straight dan beberapa braking zone untuk mengisi baterai, Silverstone justru didominasi tikungan high-speed, seperti di T9, T10, T14, dan T15.
Meski Silverstone memiliki dua main braking zone di T3 dan T16, jumlah tersebut terbilang sedikit. Akibatnya, pembalap memiliki kesempatan yang lebih terbatas untuk melakukan energy harvesting.
Di Austria terdapat tiga braking zone setelah long straight. Kondisi tersebut memungkinkan baterai diisi ulang secara lebih efektif, sehingga pembalap dapat menggunakan tenaga listrik lebih sering sepanjang lap.
Jadi menurut kami, GP Inggris akan jadi tempat ajang adu efisiensi manajemen energi.
Jika terlalu agresif menggunakan deployment di awal lap, baterai bisa habis sebelum lap selesai. Sebaliknya jika terlalu hemat, pembalap akan kehilangan kecepatan di lurusan dan saat keluar tikungan.
