This happened last year just across the city from me.
A pregnant Irish catholic woman was intimidated from her home by british UDA planters. One of many such individual instances over the last few years.
Despite calls to do so from activists themselves - there was NO resulting mobilisation of Irish republicans in defence of this woman. No rallies to support her. No whipround for a few quid. Nothing.
What sort of message does this send when foreign nationals are offered greater support and protection than our own people? That attacks on Irish catholics and their homes are part of the status-quo, something to be accepted, the usual existence for an Irish person living in a part of Ireland still occupied by Britain.
This is unacceptable to me and many of the Irish republicans I know.
@NationalPartyIE@JmcloughlinNP Pearse wrote to his mother on May 1, 1916 while he was awaiting execution "but we shall be remembered by posterity and blessed by unborn generations"
How many thousands of blessings have been stolen from us by the free state executing these little gaels.
"The Orangeman is no more loyal to England than we are, he wants the Union because he imagines that it secures his prosperity, but he is ready to fire on the Union flag the moment it threatens his prosperity."
Padraig Mac Piarais
Do yourself a favour and scan the crowd. I spotted MAYBE two people under the age of 30.
The youth of Ireland see what is being done to their heritage. They don’t want their old people fighting to give away their inheritance.
They want soil. You gave them blood.
They will say "Let no Irishman throw a stone at the foreigner, he may hit his own clansman" while they actively throw stones at their clansmen to appease the foreigner
In Connollys time they'd be throwing stones at their own to defend the Brits

@ChevDeDeriq It's a great motivator to see how weak they've became. The ones that do try to so something are either anorexic or obese. There's no intellectuals on the British right either, just a bunch of chavs.
They all already know this btw, but their love of hedonism prevents change.
@belfastbhoy1961 Im a nationalist in north Belfast. Id say the figure is closer to 70% tbh. People arent overly vocal for 2 reasons. Firstly nobody wants to be seen to be siding with loyalists. Secondly, they know they'll be demonised by Sinn Fein and their supporters.
@RealVandalian Yeah that's just some mural not actual evidence. Heres a photo of Arthur Griffith (the founder of Sinn Féin) during the Boer war. Also here is a video of Dan Breen (man who started the War of Independence and a massive supporter of National Socialism).

@SirAlbionBUF It's true, loyalist paramilitaries only really managed to kill civilians whilst the Provos managed to kill over 3x as many as the loyalist paramilitaries + army got of them.
CAIN: Sutton Index of Death on the Troubles
360 Dead on the Irish side
1,211 Dead on the Loyalists side
Albert Camus once said most Marxists espoused the creed before ever having read Marx. I would guess this is much truer again today than in his day. So much of today's far left has roots in low-brow post-war pop culture.
