Openness actually makes things safer and more secure in the long run. The good guys need the same kind of tools the bad actors might get their hands on, so they can fight fire with fire when AI threats pop up. Plus, when a whole community of folks is poking, testing, benchmarking, and red-teaming these models, they dig up the weak spots a whole lot better than if everything’s locked up tight in a few closed systems. Those closed ones? They’re like putting all your eggs in one basket—one big breach and the whole thing can go sideways, with nobody outside able to take a good look under the hood. And if we let just a handful of closed models hog all the power, competition dries up and the whole setup gets a lot more fragile.

@danellisona am I the only one noticing the jarring typo🤔 and yes AI can think better than humans, maybe not all humans at this point in the AI revolution. But it can definitely think better than 90% of humans and soon within the next 2-3 years will be able to think better than all humans.
