Robert Mugabe’s legacy is millions of Zimbabweans living in South Africa, including his own child. We are either deluded or we lack critical thinking skills if we scrap the barrel to celebrate a man under whose leadership over 20,000 citizens were killed during Gukurahundi. It simply shows that our standards are very low or nonexistent.

Land was not given to Zimbabweans by one individual, it was secured through a liberation struggle in which thousands of unsung heroes sacrificed their lives. Mugabe presided over the post-independence administration of the state, but the gains of liberation were paid for by the blood and commitment of many, not the work of one man alone.
