We need to stop acting like โZambians are friendlyโ is a tourism strategy. Nobody is spending thousands of dollars to fly across the world for customer service. Show them the landscapes, wildlife, culture, food, and experiences. Friendliness is the garnish, not the meal.
@IamPrettyThug@Glaziya It's not filtering. Moreso masking which maximizes the dynamic range of the camera sensor to present the image as close to how your eyes would see it.
@ssishuwa@Mwebantu I get that. However, my point stands. If you feel youโre better equipped to effect change, why not do it for the love of your country? I love learning, but the problem with academia is itโs mostly theory & rarely practical; a very cushy vantage point from which to pontificate.
One of the things Iโve noticed about opinions and analysis is that when you have skin in the game you canโt afford to not be objective or approximate for it. Analysts who have no skin in the game other than the words they proffer can afford to be extreme in their biases. Those who are positive can afford to always be positive, those who are pessimists can afford to always be pessimists. For that reason I tend not to trust activists and opinion writers. The only skin in the game they have is their words and the coalitions they buildโwhich makes them undeclared politicians.
All of which is to say, well done South Africa.
@kiddtic@SeverinoTheWolf Not neccesarily. He does admit that a 4 day work week is beneficial to workers but his argument is that it's economically counter productive. Did you read the part about Japan having tried this in the 90's but back tracked because of a 20% dip in output?
@ukusefya Additionally, travelers from Africa tend to be more price sensitive. Developed economies on the other hand have lots of business travel which facilities willingness to pay for premium comfort (lay flat seats). This helps airlines justify investing in better aircrafts.
@ukusefya True. However, a long haul flight means the plane can't be used within a western market for the time it's in the air. Apples to apples, how does profitably compare if the same plane can complete 6 trips within Europe within the same time it takes for it to go to Zambia and back?
