@zedisnotokay @lectersbian My sister is not much of a reader. She tells me about amazing books. I’ve learned to avoid the recommendations because they are not the quality I like!! So yes, I think some people have low bars lol.
@kenzielroberts I have a spreadsheet with word counts. I estimate a book for every 110,000 words. I’m at about 38 fic “books” in the past two months. I don’t count one shots at all.
You're working a stressful job. You have bills to pay and maybe a family to worry about. You're trying to find joy in the small things. And now you've gotta worry about your stupid fucking hockey team making it out of the first round of the playoffs
I’ve had meetings where fancy hollywood people have suggested that the Heated Rivalry craze means audiences want:
sports!
indie vibes!
recent period pieces!
explicit sex!
Y’all, it’s simply:
romance!
queer romance!
queer romance with maximum kissing!
and nobody dies!
Message to the rest of Canada. The vast majority of us Albertans love this country. We will never vote to leave it. We hope this will be a turning point for a return to sane leadership in all our Provincial political parties.
Under the UCP, AB municipalities lost $648M+ in provincial funding over 4 years. Now cities are slashing snow removal, short-staffing firefighters & EMS, and jacking up property taxes just to keep the lights on.
Does your city or town feel on the decline?
Blame the UCP.
@integritycdn I'm not in favour of any province leaving Canada. I will however say at least in Quebec a separatist political party was formed and campaigned on separation. In Alberta they haven't found the courage or ethics to do that and are working behind citizens backs. Wake up Alberta.
The same crew who thought Poilievre’s crowds meant a landslide in ‘25 now think Alberta independence is a "slam dunk" because a few hundred people line up for a petition.
Meanwhile, the 400,000+ who signed to support Canada are the real quiet majority.
