@seanhhm The thing I like the most about HuGo is they aren’t afraid to admit their mistakes and fix them. Barron trade (mistake) move him for Carrier. Reinbacher drafted (huge mistake) fix it with Dobson. Dach trade (big mistake) TBD fix at 2C.

@MarcPDumont They play a lot on the weekends and I had to see what he is all about. Was hoping to see the same thing the scouting staff and HuGu saw. Unfortunately I didn’t but that doesn’t mean there’s not something there. I’m craving a player who can get me out of my seat in this yrs draft

@MarcPDumont For sure he improved post injury, can’t argue with that. But the bar was VERY low after stumbling outta the gates. Gap control was atrocious for someone who is considered a shutdown D. Mind you people say he has unlocked offensive potential but I didnt see it. Good 1st pass tho.

@MarcPDumont Not to mention I watched every one of his world junior games live in his draft year. When the pick was announced at the draft (Carey forgetting his name was funny) I fell on the floor and screamed in agony. Again, I’m not a professional scout… so I hope he proves me wrong.

Very underwhelming for a T5 pick. Sure hope I’m wrong but he’s just another D to add to the stable of D prospects that blends in. Hopefully Hughes trades 1 or 2 for a forward with offensive upside at the draft 🤞
