@plainspoken2015 @SamLMontano Of course I’m also seeing about 4 people - who I know directly - staying because they have provisions and can handle being without power for 2 days. Two of those 4 think this is about govt control. So fearful for all of them and the first responders

@SamLMontano All anecdotal of course but judging by my friends/family and their friends/family it’s a mix. So many people in the mandatory evacuation zone who have the means to leave have been saying they are more afraid of getting stuck on the roads evacuating because FL can’t handle it

@fictionalbeck @nolaready I’m the parent of a Tulane grad. I got multiple alerts. The Tulane grad who doesn’t live in Nola now got so many alerts including a robocall from NOPD that he turned off notifications. Seems uptown was well informed

@SamLMontano Remove the barriers that someone faces when they realize that disaster management is where they want to channel their time & energy & work. Master’s programs are expensive but required. Career changers bring knowledge/passion but don’t have experience to get in w/out lots of💰
