I think it is a combination of things. But children are viewed as a burden. While people want them they are told to live their lives first. That it is something they can do later.
But it doesn’t work that way. It is a lot more expensive to have kids later. Not just health wise. When your whole life and debts are based on a double income, how do you adjust to single income for a year or more? I know so many people that give up and only have one after saying they planned more.
When you are young without burdens, it is normal to live cheaply. The first child may not be planned, but adding a second and third is much easier. You make it work. It is not easy but you make it work as you have not yet had more.
Having kids while you are young is a very happy life! And the good news is that you can look forward to grandkids while you are still young enough to enjoy it.
The government doing things like free IVF and birth payments is the wrong direction. IVF is mainly resolved by having kids earlier. (Ok when needed though) the birth payments are not helpful because clinics always raise their costs to match. It ends up not helping at all.
That would be amazing if it got passed… by the representatives receiving the corporate and group political donations.
Japan needs to have an initiative system to allow citizens to directly create laws and then collect petition signatures to force a law to be added to the election ballot.
That is the only real way for the people to fight back against government corruption! Now we just need to figure out how to get that law passed…
Yea. At least she is saying thank you though….
The Indian chicks complaining 3,000,000 a year was ridiculous. When Japanese retirees who worked their whole lives paying taxes only get a fraction of that, it is quite angering.
Allowing foreign students to come study at a higher tuition is fine, same as the US, but subsiding them, more than japanese students is crazy!
