🦋: i seem like a good person? am i a good person?

🎙️: i mean a decent human being, not toxic. you seem so much softer than pheem but in the trailer, it feels like you really nailed it. where did all that red flag and black flag energy come from?

🦋: i think because i never decided that this character was a red flag. i feel like no one ever sees themselves as a red flag. every person has their own reasons for what they do. so all i can do is study the character. look at what they’ve been through, their background, why they express themselves this way, why they say these things. once i understand the character as a whole, even if people see what i’m doing as a red flag, i actually understand the character so deeply. so whatever anyone says, i’ll always defend my character. i think that’s normal (to defend her character). but everyone can judge the character however they want because no one can get inside and understand pheem’s mind like i do. i just feel like i really understand her.

🎙️: what parts of pheem do you understand?

🦋: some of her actions might make you question her but i think it comes from the way she was raised. her father raised her alone and then she grew up hearing people around her, people close to her, relatives, calling her mother a whore. so it’s like pheem grew up feeling like she is worthless. those words stayed with her since she was a child. so she did everything she could to prove that she was a capable woman who could do everything on her own, an independent woman. but in the end, no matter how capable she is, she still longs for love. she needs someone to hold her, the way she never had a mother to do for her.
