A Black woman was killed yesterday in Albemarle County. She worked at the Haven and was a fierce advocate for unhoused community members in Cville and Alb. She leaves behind 5 children.

A couple months ago this lovely lady took me out to lunch so we can get to know one another as artists. From there I was like, wow, she is soooo cool! She was briefly telling me about this art show of hers…
Here we go again.
White woman loses her mind and raises $60k in 1 DAY to fight being labeled a “Karen”
Me, little black girl from Flint and we haven’t even raised $40k for my filter fund in a week, and are nowhere near my $1M goal after 4 years.

Hi Tim - I was that slightly odd stranger who had just come out of Eames art gallery. I thought I recognised you, but now I realise who you are! I am a massive fan of both your work and your ability to dress as Bermondsey Street. Hope you had a lovely rest of the evening.
WATCH: “…it wasn't mental health that killed these people, it was an automatic rifle. I'm a gun lover. I have guns. I'm a former police officer. I’m a former Army officer ... prayers won't bring these people back. We need action in our legislatures.”
Gov DeSantis in 1662 the Virginia colonial legislature passed a law that said any child born to an enslaved woman "shall be and remain forever a slave for life".
Was this an example of the institutional racism in American history that you dumbly claim does not exist?

Last year, a coworker randomly asked me to hand-deliver an antique violin across the country. I said yes, because why not. I had no idea what I was getting into, and now I need your help. A 🧵

I took care of kids and families with HIV/AIDS before there was treatment. I diagnosed newborns and had to tell new parents the whole family was likely to die from the disease. I attended 25 funerals in 1995 alone. Maybe the Twitterverse can understand why another pandemic virus that has killed at least 1500 American children, and hospitalized or chronically sickened thousands more, still produces intense anxiety in many of us even as most of society seems to have decided that ignorance is bliss.
