I also love that when I was trying to get a license with my new name, it was all "you need a birth certificate, if you don't have your it I can't give you a full license" but then later when you're suggesting I get a license with my deadname, it's suddenly not a problem! Curious!

I was so excited to get a license with my correct name today. Thank you for taking a beautiful, exciting, euphoric experience and turning it into misery and dysphoria and transphobia. I fucking hope the state burns down before I go back (because of course i didn't get my license)

The Oregon DMV is the place to be if you want misinformation about what is required to get a license, given by transphobes who will aggressively misgender you while looking at your name change paperwork and then tell you that it's not transphobia, just "the data" @OregonDOT

Trauma recovery IS about purposefully creating a path going forward that is NOT just about escaping or avoiding our symptoms & history.
