I also love that when I was trying to get a license with my new name, it was all "you need a birth certificate, if you don't have your it I can't give you a full license" but then later when you're suggesting I get a license with my deadname, it's suddenly not a problem! Curious!
I'm not even on twitter anymore. you have ruined my day so thoroughly--and given me so much fear and anxiety about having to go back--that i revived this account because i don't know what else to do. because that was fucking terrible, and the way y'all responded was disgusting.
I was so excited to get a license with my correct name today. Thank you for taking a beautiful, exciting, euphoric experience and turning it into misery and dysphoria and transphobia. I fucking hope the state burns down before I go back (because of course i didn't get my license)
no part of you standing 2 feet in front of me, talking about me, looking at my name and gender change paperwork, and saying "she" again and again after I ask you to stop, is a "private internal conversation." Or does the DMV accept transphobia as long as it's in the breakroom?
the transphobia isn't cute and lecturing me about how I'm "feeling offended" when it's "the data" isn't fucking cute--especially when you kept saying "she" over and over again despite me asking you to stop, and then telling me that it was a private internal conversation?! wtf???
thank you for ruining my day, first by having really shitty information on your website about what paperwork is required--why does it say i don't need a birth certificate if i apparently need one, for example??--and then by "she"ing me over and over and lecturing me about it
The Oregon DMV is the place to be if you want misinformation about what is required to get a license, given by transphobes who will aggressively misgender you while looking at your name change paperwork and then tell you that it's not transphobia, just "the data" @OregonDOT

I'm trying to make mastodon work. Message me here or there if you have another way to follow y'all. Be safe, be healthy, know I wish I could have done more.
Ads are going off the fucking rails to the point where it's pretty bad for my mental health (eating disorders and jaysus every three posts) so I am maybe uninstalling the app. True beginning of the end on here for me.
If you are someone who perpetuated the abuse that was done to you it is fair for you to want understanding because of your past and a remorseful heart. It is not fair for you to expect those who experienced your abuse to be the ones to hold that space for you.

Trauma recovery isn't about going back to who we were. We may not even REMEMBER who we were "before"-- or there may not have been a "before."
Trauma recovery IS about purposefully creating a path going forward that is NOT just about escaping or avoiding our symptoms & history.
