No magic molecule in a bottle can reverse wear, rebuild damaged parts, or restore lost geometry. Additives may change friction or quiet an engine temporarily, but oil protects — it does not rebuild.
Science, not speculation.

Well, what do we have here. The "Orange Can" Issue. We say this on a very expensive, nearly million dollar aircooled Porsche 911. Needless to say, there are better choices. Good news is that Wix is still making great filters here in the USA. That's what we recommend, hands down.
LN recommends Driven DT40 as a replacement for A40 oils for street use. However, for track use where oil temps are elevated, or your engine has bore scoring, then and only then are we recommending DI50.

The oil originally specified for your vehicle may not exist anymore. Modern API SQ / ILSAC GF-7 oils are built for newer engines, emissions systems, fuel economy, and low viscosities. Great for modern cars — not always right for older engines.

LN Engineering isn’t a parts supplier—and we’re not an engine builder.
We exist to eliminate guesswork and deliver repeatable results for Porsche engines.
Engineered solutions. Validated components. Proven outcomes.

Even on a 2009 or later Porsche sports car engine, what oil you use matters. Even without oiling issues, hot oil doesn't protect as well and most street oils aren't up to track use. On hot days, Driven XP6 should be your go to on H20 cooled engines.

Cylinder technologies are evolving faster than the aftermarket can keep up with them. Take a minute and read this latest article in Engine Professional magazine for what everyone planning a rebuild on a modern aluminum engine needs to know.

We've increased our batch sizes and optimized our 5-axis programs. You know what that means. We were able to drop the cost on our billet aluminum valve covers, chain boxes and covers, and other billet upgrades for your aircooled Porsche 911.

Planning to rebuild your Porsche 911 soon? Not sure whether to go stock or big bore? What about single versus twin plug? We cover this and tons more in our Ultimate Porsche Piston and Cylinder guide which just landed this month.

Friendly reminder. Don't mix ethanol free fuels with ethanol enriched. If you do, you risk phase separation. Even more important, with E15 at the pump, Driven Defender additives are even more important now for Porsche models pre-dating the Boxster.

Changing your engine oil or transmission fluid? Upgrade to an LN Engineering billet magnetic drain plug. Most are made out of magnetic stainless and all feature rare earth neodymium magnets. Available for Porsche, VW, Audi, Mercedes, BMW, Mini, and more.

The Eisen class action suit established the failure rates under warranty. The fact is, no ball or roller bearing lasts forever. That's why it should be a service item for all Boxster and 911 996 models.

Spring is finally here. That means it's time to get your Porsche track ready. That includes giving your gearbox some love. Manual and PDK transmissions all can benefit from strategic upgrades.

Not all cylinders are created equal. Bring your aircooled Porsche into the 21st century. Nickies are stronger and run cooler by design and allow the addition of knock sensing when doing popular EFI conversions. Your Porsche engine deserves the best.

End game bore scoring will cause excessive oil consumption and carbon buildup. Bad enough that it can lead to detonation and rod bearing damage, not to mention the increased silicon and soot in the oil is causing wear everywhere. So what is acceptable?

Things have come a long way. This four ring Porsche piston gave way to modern pistons with thinner and stronger rings that are better able to conform to cylinder geometries. This reduces friction and increases fuel economy, not to mention, makes more power.
