“Digital manufacturing may mean the introduction of new technology into an existing firm’s operations. It may also mean the invention of new business models and production modes that are made viable solely because of advanced technology.”https://t.co/nvRWNn49le
The extreme difficulty of scaling production of new technology is not well understood. It’s 1000% to 10,000% harder than making a few prototypes. The machine that makes the machine is vastly harder than the machine itself.
@tb4liberty @kropotkinite@Eastremontave@jess_bbg@accidental_left@elonmusk Capitalism needs free markets, competition to stay effective, while markets tends to monopolize themselves. Take the German health insurance industry: government ensures businesses keep competing with each other, through transparent pricing.
Thank you Composites World for sharing details on Scott’s talk and MIT research: creating virtual factory tools for solving “the complex interactions between design, production and finance to identify cost drivers.” Great being there! #composites

#SaveTheInternet

@Fox0x01 @Yezika_Ink @Blackhoodie_RE Interestingly, there were tons of women engineers there today. I'd say it was the salad and makeup-booth that made it awkward.
