@diet4nothing Just to elaborate, when I say “pretend notion” I mostly mean in shows, especially family friendly cartoons. Lesbian couples are more tolerable to a wider audience than gay men, due to stigma. In real life I know lesbians/ sapphics in general are underrepresented.
@diet4nothing As a sapphic, I’m sick of this pretend notion that we somehow get less representation. Is there a lot? no. Could there be more? Yes. Gay men hardly have iconic, canonically gay ships as well featured as these examples below. Be grateful for queer rep, whether it’s the L,G,B or T
@theOneandOnly13@God_of_Apples29 “2 toddlers just to bend one BOULDER”, it’s just the Intro displaying the different elements… Don’t watch the show, if it’s not your cup of tea. holy complaining over nothing.
@yosqnos Love how we’re all experiencing feeling apprehensive to start, due to the cover having no signs of yuri, and a whole lot of man. I will give it a go, I’m trusting you all.🙂↕️
it’s weird how transphobes think the reason a lot of trans people are suicidal is due to the fact they’re trans and not the fact that society bashes them for existing
@222xen Anyone can be a lesbian at this point, screw women, labels with meaning and wlw only spaces. shoutout misogyny, sexism and people’s incessant, self centred desire to be included.
@jnbsxm@Di6Moder Lesbian is inherently binary, if your nb and identify as a lesbian, that’s your prerogative, but changing the definition doesn’t mean everyone gets to be a lesbian. It was ‘wlw’ before it was “non-man x non-man” trans men are not lesbians, that’s borderline transphobic.
@Amarants_Talk@ZayynHassan I understand your point, I just don’t think taking a canonically “straight” character and giving them a queer arc is doing anything damaging, queer rep is already rare, and there is a plethora of straight characters, I doubt making one “turn” gay is that big of a deal.
