i don’t deny that the embargo is used to strip the island of resources i’m just stating that the reason for the uprise is the 60+ years of dictatorship. the regime used the embargo as their scapegoat when really they deprive citizens of more rights than an embargo could
Cuba is a country with no free press and one news station for the whole island that is sanctioned by the regime, but yea, believe what they tell you and not the people on the streets bleeding for freedom.
it’s funny because Cuba was never a communist country , it’s always been a dictatorship disguised as one to gain support from communist organizations outside of the island. the community has no power on the island it’s only the few at the top. that is not communism by definition.
there are two currencies set in place, pesos and CUC, pesos are what the common cuban is paid in, 20 pesos make 1 dollar. the regime sets their commerce to sale in dollars making it impossible for cubans to survive with what they are paid. nothing to do with blockade.
you have to open minded enough to acknowledge that yes, imperialism and the blockade has damaged Cuba economically, but that doesn’t negate the crimes the regime commits against its own people. the embargo is not murdering husbands and kidnapping sons, the regime is
Biden DHS Chief Alejandro Mayorkas on Cubans fleeing to the United States:
“They will not enter."

Why is there suddenly so many comparisons between movements? Why can’t we all just support each other without trying to prove which one is more important. They’re ALL important and right now Cuba is in a huge humanitarian crisis. Stop making it a competition
This happened in my mom's hometown of Cárdenas, Cuba. It's so hard to watch... but we must bear witness to how a totalitarian government crushes its people to maintain control.

They have already shot and killed peaceful protestors,(as young as 13) and Diaz Canel has ordered the military to attack everyone they see. We are proud of being Cubans. We love our country but we hate our corrupt government. After 60+ years we have had enough!
17 and 18 year old kids are being recruited by the Cuban military against their will. I’ve seen videos of them being dragged from their homes. People are dying for freedom and the government is making our people fight each other for their own conveniences. #SOSCuba
