Highest In The Nation: Medical Malpractice Insurance Rates, William Large, President of the @FLJusticeReform, a DAC client, lead the discussion on the need for reform. #InsuranceSummit
This is false. Perhaps the State of Illinois should first focus on the basic fact that State Farm Florida is its own company and no subsidization from the company in question is taking place.
We agree that Florida is a more desirable location to live in and many Illinoisans are relocating here, which has been further demonstrated through several carriers, including State Farm, filing rate reductions here in Florida.
Florida is happy to give Illinois some pointers on how to build an affordable and sustainable insurance market.
For Illinoisans looking to relocate to Florida, 14 additional insurance companies have entered our market since 2023 and our state’s building code is one of the nation’s best. 🐊🍊
@LAGovJeffLandry You made a false statement. @GovRonDeSantis
is very clear he's opposed to trying to roll back insurance and tort reforms bc they are working. Those misguided rollback proposals only moved with any significance in the FL House. Check your facts and call Gov. DeSantis to apologize.
WHO DO THEY WORK FOR? @GovRonDeSantis blasts various bills being pushed through the Florida House to undo Florida's positive strides in tort reform over the last few years:
"Who are they doing the bidding [of]? Not you... I don't want this state being run by Morgan and Morgan!"
Just two years ago, the Florida Legislature ended sham litigation practices that made billboard lawyers rich at our expense. Auto insurance premiums are now going down for the first time in memory, saving Florida drivers millions. Billboard lawyers want those savings back in their pockets, and a vote today in the Florida House (HB 947) will give them exactly what they want. Very simply, a vote for this bill is a total giveaway to personal injury lawyers and will cost every Floridian money. This defining vote should be an easy “NO” for Republican members who supported our 2023 reforms and new members who want to take a principled stand for their constituents. Our reforms are working, and we must stay the course. #FlaPol #Sayfie
The results of noble but dangerous intentions. This is also what happens when a federal office has unbridled regulatory abilities. #cfpb#financialservices#banking
Good riddance to the CFPB - https://t.co/adSHsi9k3l - @washtimesoped
Incredible progress! Data shows that insurance premiums are trending down in Florida, and consumers have access to more choices when shopping for policies. Thank you @GovRonDeSantis for championing tort reform. Your efforts have truly made a difference. https://t.co/ry0P5GpJCs
Thanks to reforms championed by @GovRonDeSantis, Florida’s insurance industry is improving!
Over the past three years, Governor DeSantis has driven historic insurance reforms through three general and two special legislative sessions. Five transformative bills—three addressing tort reform and two focusing on consumer protections—have stabilized Florida’s insurance market.
OIR credits much of its success to these reforms and remains committed to supporting a resilient insurance market under Governor DeSantis’s leadership.

🚨INSURANCE ALERT🚨
Wrapping up 2024, OIR is seeing lawsuits against insurers are lower than they were before 2018.
In just a yearly comparison, filings are down 23%!
@SenWarren This coming from the person who created another federal government banking regulator body when there are already 5+ other banking regulating bodies plus 50 state banking regulators.
