LocalWiki

We are a grassroots effort to collect, share and open the world’s local knowledge.

To make a one-time donation: https://t.co/G7T9dslCib

[LocalWiki @localwiki]

Our recurring donations are $169/mo but our monthly hosting costs are $269.87 (& may increase to $390/mo). This $100-200 shortfall is usually covered by our founders but this isn't good long term. Consider donating to keep LocalWiki running smoothly! https://t.co/orqXk5IqZx

[The Emeryville Historical Society @emeryhistorical]

We just added our first @localwiki entry for the Emeryville page which is a brief history behind Landregan Street which was renamed Horton in the early 2000s. The page is open for any amateur historian to edit and add their own entries.

We experienced about 25 minutes of downtime. Services should be running as usual now and we are investigating causes.

Yknow what's been a blessing while working on the WIPs set in a fantasy version of my home town? LocalWiki. Whoever put all those pages on there is committed. Even if I heavily side eye some of the things it says, it's overall a great resource #writing #worldbuilding

@stevesong We had a listserv but it looks like it's dead now :( Any suggestions for good platform for an OSS-type forum? A discord server? Freenode has kicked the bucket as well. https://t.co/dIe9Ft47Vi

Just a few days left to apply for an #ODD2021 mini-grant. @Mapbox loves supporting the open mapping efforts on #OpenDataDay

[LocalWiki @localwiki]

..and our maps are now fixed and looking good again! THANK YOU to @mapbox for generously donating their map tile service to keep our maps looking beautiful! ✨💥

[LocalWiki @localwiki]

Our maps weren't loading for a while today. The issue's been fixed. Maps will look kinda weird for a little while until we port over our old map style to the new map system - hold tight!

[LocalWiki @localwiki]

@elementary_peng We've been 100% volunteer run for the past several years. Social media posting has taken a hit!
