@Timodc As an Arizonan who doesn’t partake in this madness, & can’t remember if daylight saving time is in the spring or fall…let’s make it so AZ is always the same time as CA. We do more business with CA and it’s easier to be the same time as CA.
@ElieNYC As a known overpacker, it’s the packing just a carryon that gives me anxiety. But after getting through security & finding enough room for me & my carryon at the airport bar, I’m good. Until I remember that I have to repack my carryon for the return trip. 👀
@michaelharriot Related topic, everyone that I have played w/throughout my UNO career keeps drawing from the pile until they can play a card. Until my BIL said according to the rules you only draw once & if you can’t play the card, you lose your turn. Have I been playing wrong all my life?
@ElieNYC Years ago, traveling with my 11 yo niece. We had a layover at Chicago Midway. She didn’t want to get off the plane because she heard Chicago was the murder capital of the world. I’m like girl, we aren’t even leaving the airport & what are they teaching you in Catholic school??
@Timodc We suffer too in AZ. We have to change our standing meeting times b/c someone in cali doesn’t want to meet during lunch in the fall/winter, or someone on east coast doesn’t want meet at 5p in the spring/summer. Or vice versa? I get confused as a person who doesn’t live with DST
@roywoodjr@RexChapman When I was little, my mom dressed me in pink clothes quite frequently & my parents would laugh at me & call me Pinky Tuscadero (from Happy Days). I never understood why my mom laughed too, seeing that she was the one who dressed me!
@theGrio@michaelharriot It’s similar to the MexiAmerican Carne Asada Council headed by Tias. Only the chosen few, hand selected by the Tias can bring a signature dish, if you’re not chosen, you can only bring chips. If you bring an unsanctioned dish & the Tias find out, you’re sent to get the ice.
@michaelharriot A freshly homemade flour tortilla slathered w grape jelly. I remember when I was 4, I was sitting @ the kitchen table enjoying this snack, tipping back in my chair. My mom said stop tipping back, your gonna fall, I fell, but stayed on the floor until I finished my jelly tortilla.
@michaelharriot I got a Mexican mom, we’ve got the same articles. Calmate o yo te calmo (loosely translated to you better calm your ass down before I calm you down & if I have to calm you down, that means you’ll be crying even more) : A lesson in self-soothing.
@DrJasonJohnson This was me and my older sister by two years when we’d both try to wear the same color outfit to high school. One of us (usually me) had to change before we left for school. 🤣
@michaelharriot When my sister and I were both in college, my mom would send us $60 each (pretty much all of her paycheck) every two weeks from her job as a nighttime janitor so we could supplement our work study jobs. It me.
