The oddest part of Mike Pence's new book is his inability to grapple with what really happened on J6. He refers to the people who wanted to see him swing from the gallows that day as Trump's "most passionate allies" and suggests that Biden's attempts to cancel student debt posed a bigger threat to the constitutional order than what happened on January 6 and concludes that Trump 2.0 reestablished that order. This is the person who wants to right the ship of conservatism, and that is why there is no course correction on the horizon.
