It was lovely to have welcomed Susie Finlayson on Wednesday when she visited us with the tapestry panel for the Galashiels Interchange Panel Project for a session of stitching. A great day was had by all at Lochcarron of Scotland and visitors who added a stitch to the panel.

Designed by The Scottish Tartans Authority and woven by @LochcarronScot, the new King Charles III tartan is based on the Balmoral tartan sett, which dates from c.1850 and continues to be worn by The King and members of the Royal Family today.

Earlier this year, The King and Queen popped into @LochcarronScot’s mill to see how production of the new tartan was coming along.

Their Majesties had a closer look at Lochcarron’s self-pioneered Scottish Wool and adapted technology, allowing historic details to be recreated.

A lovely evening was had at The Lochcarron Weavers Heritage Shop in Wester Ross as friends, neighbours, and colleagues came together to toast the relocation of this well-kent shop.

As we look forward to welcoming King Charles III and Queen Camilla, our Lochcarron Visitor Centre and shop in Selkirk will be closed on Thursday, the 6th of July. Their majesties will then go to Selkirk town square to see a Common Riding tasting and visit some local businesses.
