@KwMacdon We’re on cereals at the moment. Will try a few things when we’re back on canola later this week. What’s germinated looks all at this stage 🤞🏻

Anyone with a flexi-coil 1720/2320 air cart ever had issues with canola rate consistently go out at 20% less than the manual calibration rate? Was perfect prior to the last 2 seedings. 2/5 heads sound like the flow of canola pulses, where the other 3 sound consistent.

@GameauMc @ArapliesP 😂 that is exactly what has always been the case here too. Until this! Will start with a thinner Teflon strip and see what happens from there.. I think 3/3 heads are getting 2.5 kg consistently and the other two are pulsing between 1.2-2.5. Averaging 2.0 (when calibrated to 2.5)

@GameauMc @ArapliesP The roller is easy to turn by hand until the canola seed is introduced, then becomes very tight. The rate still seems to be consistent, just doesn’t match the calibration like it always has 🤷🏼

@ArapliesP The roller has been running extremely tight (very hard to turn by hand) as soon as canola goes in the bin. I have thought that this started around when I replaced the teflon strip... Although wouldn’t that change the calibration also?

2/2 Meter roller seems to be at a consistent speed and I feel as if I’ve covered any air leaks... Any other ideas? Any spots that leak air that are easily missed? RTs appreciated.

@farmersgrowit @RHYS_25 Yeah righto, interesting. Have had distribution issues with the baffle not being seated properly with canola. Might be better off without if it plays up again

@farmagro1 If it’s the same metering set up as our 1720 box, air leaks will cause rates of small seeds to drop, however if rates are up and down it can be the gearbox. Calibrate it a few times and it is coming out at different rates it more than likely means the gearbox is on its way out

@Braydocaldy Scepter smashed here also, done some rough counts and it’s not pretty. Also poorer protein and not yielding any better than any other variety. In the bin for me 🤷🏽‍♂️
