The MOAB is highly impractical. It needs a complex parachute/cradle/separation system used to deploy armoured vehicles, so only the C-130 can drop it. Flying such a large, slow plane into Iran is a suicide mission, to drop the equivalent of 20 Mk84s. It's never happening.

Hormuz's closure has crossed that threshold. Can Iran stop this? Perhaps. One way is to call out the PSYOP, but I don't expect it. They've run clandestine attacks too, and keeping the public ignorant about limited nuclear warfare serves every nuclear state, Iran included.

The fall out would be worse than a nuclear war. We are talking mass starvation, and the complete absence of fuel for billions and billions of people. The death toll will be in the same unit as that you expect from a nuclear war: megadeaths.
