One pane of glass for every XRPLD validator and node you run.
I've been building this for months. It's the next generation of my validator dashboard, rebuilt from the ground up to watch a whole fleet from one screen. It's out now, right before Swell week in New York.
The problem with running more than one node.
- A dashboard and a login for every box
- Alerts that don't say which box fired
- Updates by hand, one terminal at a time
What it does.
- Every node and validator on one dashboard behind one sign in, with State, Health, Alerts and Release on each row
- A live validator panel inside its peer ring, with a ledger ticker underneath
- 175 metrics, tiered so the urgent ones come first
- Alerts by email, push, Discord, Slack or webhook, and every alert names the node that fired
- Passkey sign in, so there are no passwords and no third party login service
- Updates for the whole fleet from one page, one node at a time
- An optional AI Advisor that answers questions about any node in plain words. Anything it does needs a code and a passkey, and each step lands in a hash chained log that names who approved it
Security came first from day one, and I never traded it away to ship sooner. It only reads. It never signs or submits anything, and it never opens a port on the validator. The Advisor runs under its own account with no Docker access, and the validator key never reaches it. Every release runs on real servers before it ships. Anything that touches root or keys gets its own security review. Releases are signed, and the installer checks the signature before it runs.
It fits more than one shape. Put the node and the dashboard on one box, or keep the validator on its own box and the dashboard somewhere else. One node or a whole fleet, it's the same install.

r/opensource banned any project using AI, which means the Linux kernel is officially banned from r/opensource. ๐๐
Linus Torvalds already called blanket AI bans "utterly stupid" and kernel maintainers review code based on quality, not whether Copilot helped write it.
Reddit moderation attempting to police upstream software development is the absolute definition of AI psychosis.
The anti-open-weights panic looks VERY FUCKING CONVENIENT ahead of Anthropicโs IPO.
Anthropic is preparing to sell shares while pushing rules that would also cover its open-weight competitors. Big accounts are spreading fear about those models. Some have direct business ties to Anthropic.
October 15: reports put Anthropicโs public IPO filing on
October 26 and its roadshow on November 9. Billions depend on convincing investors this business can keep growing.
October 16: Anthropicโs own AI bill is circulating in Congress. Its frontier threshold is 10^25 FLOPs, low enough to include large open models.
October 21: PHP2Shell becomes public. Researchers found the vulnerabilities using CLOSED models, with disclosure and fixes coordinated through OpenAIโs Patch the Planet.
October 22: abliterated open models become a major target of the panic. Anthropicโs CISO posts "never let a crisis go to waste" urging security leaders to ask their boards for help with basic security. 4.3M views.
By October 25, Gatesโs proposal is circulating too: powerful open models should run only on certified platforms that preserve safeguards.
I went through 400+ posts from October 16 to 26. This discussion includes Noahpinion, Suhail, yacine, beffjezos, Deedy, sporadica, AISafetyMemes, Matthew Green and Andrew Curran. Every account above 100K followers. Their positions differ, but the fear is reaching huge audiences.
And Deedy, who linked critical vulnerabilities to abliterated models, helped launch Menloโs $100M fund WITH ANTHROPIC.
There is a business relationship here. There is an IPO coming. There is a company writing proposed rules for the market it competes in.
My conclusion: this wave serves the commercial interests of closed labs. Restrict the models people can run independently and you make those people more dependent on paid providers. Investors benefit from that dependence.
I run open models on my own 4x 3090. I will not quietly accept losing that freedom while people with money in the alternative explain how much safer Iโll be.
Fuck your valuation. Fuck your IPO.
Linuxโs Rust debate just got bigger as systemd officially adds Rust support.
The software that boots your system and manages its services now allows developers to write new standalone components in Rust.
Support has merged into main for systemd 263. Existing C code wonโt be rewritten, and core libraries will stay in C.
There are strict rules too. No Cargo, no Rust standard library. Everything builds through Meson.
The first planned component is systemd-keyring-setup, which loads certificates into Linux kernel keyrings.
Rust is becoming part of more of the software Linux runs on.

A security fix can exist for months and still leave the internet exposed.
Thatโs one of the most interesting details in Reutersโ latest report on OpenAIโs security testing.
While testing AI agents against restricted environments, OpenAI says it uncovered a vulnerability in Brotli, a widely used data-compression library.
The uncomfortable part?
The underlying code had reportedly been corrected in February, but an updated release wasn't issued until after OpenAI disclosed the vulnerability.
Why this matters:
Finding a bug isn't the same as fixing it for everyone.
Software projects depend on maintainers, release schedules and downstream applications to deliver patches.
A flaw in one shared component can affect many products built on top of it.
AI-assisted security research could accelerate discovery, but defenders still need to distribute and install fixes.
This is the less glamorous side of cybersecurity: the internet depends on thousands of software components most users will never hear about.
A vulnerability isn't truly dealt with just because someone knows how to fix it. The fix has to reach the systems that need it.
Omarchy Mobile: this week's update
It was a big week, and more than half of it came from the community. Ports to new Pixels moved forward, a lot of hardware support landed, and the daily-driver experience on the Pixel 7 Pro got more polished.
๐ฑ New devices
- Pixel Fold (felix): went from first light to a real bring-up. Storage behind our read-only safety guard, the GPU enabled, volume keys, the power key, the hinge sensor and the cover screen's console. Work has started on its cover touchscreen. Thanks, boozedog!
- Pixel 8 Pro (husky, Tensor G3): our mainline kernel boots it with USB and SSH. Getting there turned up and fixed a USB bug that froze the phone, and that fix can go upstream to Linux too. Thanks, greenbrettmichael!
- Pixel 9a (tegu, Tensor G4): first light is recorded. More than a dozen kernel pieces for Tensor G4 merged, covering clocks, storage, pins, power management, GPU and touch, and a read-only battery gauge is in review. Thanks, W4HO-ham!
- Pixel 7a (lynx): new this week! A first-light board and an on-screen console are in review. Thanks, latentoperator!
- Pixel 6 (gs101): the build and flash tooling, bootloader glue and Mali-G78 GPU support merged. Thanks, robotosaith and bilacc!
- Also in progress: the Pixel 4 and the POCO F3, our first non-Pixel port.
๐ฑ Pixel 7 Pro, the reference phone
- Camera: Night mode and HDR in omacam. Several raw frames are aligned and merged on the phone, and libcamera gained noise reduction and defective-pixel correction.
- Calls: groundwork for phone calls, with calls over the lock screen, a call indicator, Do Not Disturb that lets starred contacts through, and an Emergency call button on the lock screen.
- Notifications: you can reply straight from the notification.
- Charging: the charger and its battery-temperature guard now start at boot.
- Suspend: Wi-Fi stays connected across sleep and we've measured the first sleep power numbers.
- Fingerprint: unlock keeps working across sleep.
- Updates: Omarchy updates now follow Omarchy's stable channel on the phone, and our phone patches are reapplied automatically after each update.
- Kernel cleanup: the Tensor G2 watchdog and power-management hardware is now documented to upstream standards, and the result booted on the phone this week.
๐ ๏ธ For contributors
- Every pull request now runs automatic checks in both repositories, kernel included.
- There's a one-command phone smoke test for PR reports.
- Shared install tooling handles new devices, and the installer refuses images built for another device.
- We reviewed more than 20 pull requests this week, and our review notes and lessons are public.
๐ Get involved
Have a spare Pixel 6, 7, 8 or 9? Check the supported-devices page and the Wanted list in the repo, and open an issue so efforts don't overlap. Have another phone or tablet with an unlocked bootloader? Point your agents to the repo and have them get to work!
