@OldeWorldOrder@LeadingReport Commission ferries or build a bridge. In your post you cite, “I don’t want,” and that’s simply not good enough. Have you ever considered that we don’t wish to give up the remainder of the BC coast nor do Canadians wish to cross boarders to travel amongst our country? Thought not.
In 1890, the Tariff Act came into place in the United States. It placed tariffs on imports of up to 50%.
While touted as a way to build American industry, there was also the hope it would force an annexation of Canada. It backfired.
Let's learn more.

@musicman_cali @knitflexxxandc1 Did you see the size of the base on that plug? He’d have to dilate like 10” in diameter swallow that plug. I work in an ED, we see this occasionally but it’s usually object not designed for insertion; cans of hair spray, light bulbs, or fruit/ veg.
@IanIandrever1@laurie_beverley@GlobalBC That’s not a thing. I’m sure there’s many scenarios where patients have been prematurely discharged. But you have no idea how many nights I’ve worked in the ER with 50% staff and patients continue arriving; we keep caring and admitting them as needed. Hence all the burnout of RNs
@bcgift@GlobalBC Nah brah, we’re not allowed to do that. These aren’t passengers looking to cross the Strait of Georgia, they’re ill patients. We’re professionals with a college and accountability and standards. The hope is that this will incentivize the employers to fix our workplace. #hopeful
@ShabFaiz @GlobalBC Create work environments/ compensate appropriately to recruit and retain. Currently, many new grads burn out within a couple years because of the conditions (having 10+ patients to be responsible for and giving poor care as a consequence). Better work enviro/ compensation = ++ RN
@Lorenzo1971@GlobalBC I have no comment on the legitimacy of the so called “jab,” I’ll agree to disagree on that one. But hiring back the small percentage that were terminated for not receiving the vaccine would not even come close to fixing the problem.
- ER Nurse, Kamloops
@vancouver202@GlobalBC It’s just an attempt to hold employer accountable and hopefully work to create a work environment that fosters some shred of decency so nurses stop leaving in droves. If it costs the employers an arm and a leg if the ratios are brutal, they might get creative and try harder. 🤷♂️
@Xombie7284 @GlobalBC Are you aware this post is in regards to the collective agreement the nurse’s union is hoping it’s membership ratifies? Specifically, language in the contract that limits how many patients each nurse can be responsible for? Currently there’s no limit and patients are dying.
@ZigNay@GlobalBC They were ripped from their families involuntarily and forced to attend residential schools where the mandate was, as quoted from the Indian Act, to “Kill the Indian in the child,” and in 1920 it was illegal for Indians to attend any educational institution other than.
In response to the recent legislative action in my state of Texas: I’m not pro-murdering babies.
I'm pro-Juanita who found out at her 20 week anatomy scan that the infant she had been so excited to bring into this world had developed without life sustaining organs.
An antidote to white fragility is to build up our stamina to bear witness to the pain of racism that we cause, not to impose conditions that require people of colour to continually validate our denial.
