I was delighted to join my caucus colleagues and friends, Minister @PaulCalandra and MPP @Billy__Pang , to announce that our government is investing more than $8.4 million this year to connect up to 23,000 people in Markham and Stouffville with primary care.

This investment will help more residents across York Region access timely, high-quality healthcare closer to home.

Our government’s priority has always been to strengthen primary care by increasing investments and improving access to healthcare for everyone.

Today, I visited York Regional Police District 5 to thank the brave men and women in uniform for their unwavering dedication and service. Every day, they put their lives on the line to keep our communities safe, even in the most challenging circumstances.

Their safety is just as important as ours. We must continue to support our police and work together—government, law enforcement, and the community—to build a safer Ontario and a stronger Canada.

The residents of Markham-Thornhill have waited a long time for the widening of Steeles Ave. East — and after years of advocacy, we’re finally getting it done!

I have been advocating for this since I was elected as a municipal councillor for Southeast Markham. In 2012, I presented the motion at the City of Markham that kicked off this process and helped build the cost-sharing agreement between Markham, Toronto, and York Region.

Since being elected as your MPP, I’ve continued pushing this project forward at the provincial level and in constant communication with our ward 7 councillor.

Now, under the new Canada-Ontario Development Charge Reduction Program, Steeles Ave. East has been named for funding, with the provincial and federal governments stepping up to cover up to 90% of project costs.
This will mean smoother, safer traffic and a better quality of life for families across Markham, Scarborough, and Durham Region.

Our government is raising speed limits to help get drivers where they need to go faster and safely.

Starting June 26, 2026, the speed limit will increase from 100km/hour to 110km/hour on sections of Highways 401 and 416 in eastern Ontario, followed by sections on the QEW and Highways 400, 401, 402, 403, 416 and 417.

Our government is doing everything we can to lower costs for families, keep workers on the job and get shovels in the ground faster on new homes.

That is why Toronto is receiving $1.5 billion through the new Development Charge Reduction Program (DCRP).
