@BenRiensche Hour meter has probably rolled over once. If I had 900k I’d buy land. I don’t see the point spending that amount on iron. Cool if you do. Combines planters and high hp tractors do a lot of sitting 4 months out of the year for what they cost. Those payments don’t care corn is 4$
@billionare81@BenRiensche I worked for Deere as a planter tech it was amazing how the old timers with finger meters in the old 7000s could plant. I’ve switched to white and even the old 5000 series still can put these new ee planters to shame with a lot less headache. Speed is nothing without accuracy.
@TorkWhisler I built the life I want to live. Sure the sale money would be a decent amount but I’d piss it all away through boredom and alcoholism of not being happy
@Dusty3080467325 That’s why I farm without the coop and ag lender. Anything to line their pockets with money I don’t have. Grandpa and I have planted conventional corn for a decade now and have a local guy spray. Save a lot of money and pull 245-250 bpa consistently.
@Fat_Electrician Expected to use like 22,000 gallons of water a month. Residents expect a massive hike on their utility bills including electricity. In a lot of these data centers they buy farmland for ridiculous prices and drive out agriculture. Subsequently, more corporatized farms.
@Fat_Electrician Data centers are the new solar farms. The deal looks so good up front that nobody reads the fine print. We have 2 coming locally. 1 will use glycol and 1 will use city water. The one using city water received tons of push back and the city approved anyway.
@TorkWhisler 12 year old me: I want to be a Bto
24 year old me: man I’m glad I don’t need an operating loan for my whopping 100 acres.
Hope everyone comes out okay, things might get interesting. Luv putting 5.50 diesel in my pickup tho 👍🏻
@gwiesefarms Convenience tractor to me is a 4440, 1066, 2-135, 7040, 1155, 1070, TW15, etc. Always starts, can do most jobs. Cheap investment in my opinion to make sure there’s always a plan b.
