The best BBQ has to hit the smokers REALLY early in the morning. Here’s a few frames from my sunrise session spent with the heads of the @2fiftybbq smokehouse. Never thought I’d crave brisket before 7AM.
Can’t wait to start editing! #J268X
Really excited to start shooting our #j368X documentary on the amazing story of @2fiftybbq right here in Riverdale. We can’t wait to share this film with you soon!

Greenbelt Mayor Colin Byrd regrets none of his statements towards Governor Hogan from last month's conference at the mass vaccination site at the Greenbelt metro station. He speaks for his city and wants to make sure Greenbelt is heard.
So much goes more goes into running a food truck than I thought. It was great profiling Greenbelt local Charles Jackson, and spending the day in his food truck "Good To Da Bone BBQ".
Had a great time capturing and editing my final film for #j262b. It's hard to believe the semester is over, thank you

An exciting afternoon finishing up a custom sign for my final project for #j262b. If there is potential for a nice time lapse, always shoot it. @BethanysStories
The largest takeaway from @melissalyttle ‘s “Business Owner First, Photographer Second” is understanding the return on your investment. As we grow as storytellers, we must be able to answer “yes” to some of the questions in the photo below. @BethanysStories#j262b
What is the message the company wants you to be able to capture with your camera? How will your photo have a life after the shoot? Some very important questions that @melissalyttle and all freelancers have to think about when in the field. @BethanysStories#j262b
Love this shot from @melissalyttle it’s such a creative idea for a portrait, particularly for a world renowned shuffle board player. Learning a lot right now in the “Business Owner First, Photographer Second” webinar. @BethanysStories#j262b
The first Climate Change Action Plan Workgroup meeting was successful in introducing the key environmental issues that PGCPS wants to overcome. Keep an eye out for their first public forum that will be released sometime next month.
As journalists, we need to turn back to reporting the truth, not advocacy. To tell the unvarnished truth is not attainable, but it is our job to seek it out as best we can. A very informational talk from Al Tompkins today in #j262b@BethanysStories
Election day for the City of Hyattsville is less than a month away and three qualified candidates are campaigning to be the next mayor. As the community climbs out of the pandemic, I spoke with them and learned why this is such a vital election.
The Greenbelt City Council is working on adopting their own food truck regulations so vendors do not have to abide by the county law. In my latest article, I spoke with Mayor Colin A. Byrd and a food truck owner to hear where the city is heading.
