The Senate’s health committee just passed SB 480, a ban on gender affirming care for minors.
Afterward, Kit Malone, advocacy strategist for ACLU Indiana, was addressing a group who came to oppose the bill and they broke out into “happy birthday” for her.
Today, the Indiana GOP abortion ban goes into effect.
Republicans won't say much about it because they know it's not popular with Hoosiers.
But we have the vote records. Below, find a thread of every House Republican who voted for the ban & their detailed vote:
Indiana's ban on abortion is now in effect, eliminating abortion access across the state.
Every day that this ban is in effect, Hoosiers are unable to access critical health care.
Step 1: Give kindness. Hoosier women and girls are not OK today.
Step 2: Vote for Dem candidates by Nov 8.
Democrats, like me, are the only ones who will fight for Hoosier Women and can moderate the Statehouse GOP Supermajority.
Step 3: Repeal Indiana's extreme abortion ban.
✔️ Early voting starts October 11, Indiana.

The governor of Indiana has signed SB1 into law, effective 9/15.
In a state that boasts high eviction rates, homelessness rates, food apartheids, teacher shortages, and robust police budgets, an abortion ban is yet another targeted act of legislative and state violence.
Indiana is poised to become the first state in the country to pass a new abortion ban since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade.
SB 1 will force Hoosiers to carry pregnancies against their will. This bill ignores the majority of Hoosiers who support abortion access.
