It should be illegal for medical professionals to work for 24 hours straight. What an absurd practice. We don’t let pilots fly planes for 24 hours straight. Why do we let people who make life and death decisions for total strangers do this?
It just bears repeating how incredibly wild it is that disability graphs all kink upward after 2020, steeply, and all they’re talking about is sick notes.
2 years ago, on my substack about our collective decision to ignore COVID, I reported that Germany had entered a recession bc workers needed a record number of sick days . The next year, that record was broken. This is the outcome. Covid is a LABOR ISSUE

Executives love reading what they want into data so they can make more money even if it inconveniences a significant portion of their consumer base. They will do this repeatedly until they erase themselves.
Sony announced that it will no longer produce discs for PlayStation games starting in January 2028, citing "consumer preferences" for the reason it's going all-in on digital. https://t.co/FAgpU00P3p
We can never know if that will hold out indefinitely, the character of every organization changes over time and often can become the opposite of what it was founded as for better or for worse. We show up, we struggle, we learn, we work, we humble ourselves. Rinse and repeat.
I'm exposed to much critique of organizing and organization and much of it sits heavy. Why DSA? Why not "The Communist Party?" The longer I've considered the questions the more clear my answer becomes, and that's this...
Now, I don't think I have the insight to say where for sure every which organization falls, but I've experienced enough to see that DSA moves and morphs and that good work is being done and often the correct line is winning out.
Gun and ball gamers buy the same game year after year. Nobody cares. I have a PS5 to play 4k Blurays and a handful of exclusives. Why would I buy games on PS5 when I can buy them on Switch or PC when Sony is publicly masturbating over consumers not actually owning anything?
Sony is planning on release the PS6 into a market where less and less people can afford the hobby by making it even less accessible? Not to mention, what actual benefit are we getting? How much better should games look?
We're not even aiming for true 4k60 anymore. Half of all gamers are still on 1080p and having a great time. The pursuit of faking processing power and taking a decade to make a game is neither necessary nor worthwhile. I do not give a shit if I can't play with Ray Tracing.
