There is a backlog of 5 every single year. Give it 10 years, its a backlog of 50. Unless there Applicants <= GC there will always be a backlog. How stupid are you?

Otherwise its just sadistic: we welcome everyone on H1B, but then for GC, stand in separate lines by country and wait for your turn which is 100 years for one country, 6 months for another.

But then again, as long as the discriminatory country cap exists, only one category of people will keep waiting. Thats the fundamental issue.

@jflynn32 @David_J_Bier Yes, the whole "lottery" is BS. Trump tried to get rid of it by ensuring highest paid people get H1B first, but it was branded as a draconian measure and canceled by Biden. It did have problems, like SW Engineers would dominate etc, but still better than a random lottery!
