@jamiea_murray @robert12jones@kinsellawarren They will spin it as cooperation, but Trudeau had years to cooperate and has proven he's incapable. They are counting on the political illiteracy and apathy of Cdns. The NDP sold out their supporters to secure their own jobs & pensions, while handing Trudeau unchecked control.
@jamiea_murray @robert12jones@kinsellawarren No, this is them whipping another party in order to gain unchecked control for 3.5 years. Effectively handing them a majority they didn't earn.
Both parties made this deal for selfish reasons, certainly not for the ppl. It doesn't take forfeiting NDP voices to "work together."
@Guinness_kel@ryck_nancy@Ramone48169919 Naw, this deal gives Trudeau the unchecked control he desperately wants. With the NDP officially whipped, he has secured his position and the success of future LPC motions in th HoC for the next 3.5 years.
The NDP are finished either way. Why would he cut his reign short?
@Boleo44@TheoFleury14 A functioning LPC minority is a reasonable representation of Cdns in our current system (though a CPC minority would be better).
The problem is with the players and their selfish motivations; as well as with the utter absence of accountability in govt.
@TheoFleury14 Broke enough to make a deal with the devil, forfeiting the voices of their 3 million supporters in exchange for their own job security and pensions.
Now that Ottawa Police has come out and said there's no evidence that the Feb. 6 residential building arson attempt was connected to the #FreedomConvoy2022 protest I have compiled every time a Liberal/NDP MP falsely smeared protestors as arsonists in the House of Commons #cdnpoli
@PeterHRatcliffe@PierrePoilievre Canada may have been recognized that way for many years, but the Trudeau govt has been chipping away at our democracy for a while now.
I'm not necessarily a fan of PP, but there is certainly truth to the statement that, under Trudeau, Canadians have never been less free.
@RosieBarton Parliament doesn't work properly when it is led by a narcissistic brat who doesn't play well with others ๐คทโโ๏ธ
Trudeau is the problem, not the minority govt.
@AnneofKingston@RosieBarton The NDP and LPC could have continued to work together without an agreement that sacrifices the voices of NDP supporters.
This was a selfish move for both. NDP sees the writing on the wall and secures their jobs/pension; Trudeau gets the unchecked control he has been striving for.
@Pjhvan@lamullr@theJagmeetSingh Also, this agreement forfeits the voice of 18% of Canadians for the next 3.5 years. They get pharma and dental (which they could have got w/o selling their souls), in exchange for sacrificing their voice on all future issues.
This is not representative of even a tenuous majority
@krafty747 @theJagmeetSingh The sacrifice of 18% of Cdn voices isn't what Cdns want. These programs could be delivered without the NDP forfeiting their voice on all other matters for 3.5 yrs. The problem is that Trudeau didn't see anything in it for him until this agreement to give him unchecked control.
@DavidRae70@AlexpiersonAMP@erinotoole Why would he call an election before 2025? He made this deal in order to secure his unchecked control until 2025... the @NDP are now officially Trudeau yes men.
@AlexpiersonAMP@erinotoole A coalition would actually be more democratic than this. At least it would give NDP a voice.
@theJagmeetSingh made a deal with the devil to secure his job & pension bc his party is broke and will not survive another election. He forfeited the voices of 18% of Cdns with this move
What it means is that the Winnipeg lab questions go away. Abuse of Emergency power questions go away. Billions missing of pandemic spending go away. What it means is a socialist majority as inflation soars! @erinotoole warned of a coalition and he was right.
@Lawsome_ Nothing, and with this agreement they have made it official. @theJagmeetSingh has destroyed the party and in a last ditch effort to secure his own job and pension, has made a deal with the devil before a once respectable party fizzles away.
@NadiaMaza53@JustinTrudeau Trudeau is counting on politically illiterate ppl like you (aka his base) to support this move.
Stability would be recognizing he was not given a mandate and working with other parties in order to actually represent Canadians. This is just a power grab ๐คทโโ๏ธ
