@Skelle_is_me@JoustineNatala@MaggietheMezzo Give the normal pads just like you would gift a friend, neighbour. Them being gifted this type of pad because they are less privileged is what makes this worse.
@JoustineNatala@MaggietheMezzo And it's why we are blazing guns, saying we all get periods, and subjecting a human being to washing it with a context of lack of privilege is inhuman. Give them normal pads if you can, just don't push this agenda of washing pads. Hopefully, we will end period poverty.
@JoustineNatala@MaggietheMezzo Maybe next time you are buying to go distribute, give them an option of washing their menses and not washing it, buy the two options see what they will prefer. We also donate pads, and when we say this idea of washing pads is insane, we also understand what period poverty is.
@JoustineNatala@MaggietheMezzo Exactly my blood, that comes from the tissues of my uterine wall, doesn't smell pleasant and human-friendly whenever it sheds, so yes, my blood.
@JoustineNatala@MaggietheMezzo Thing is, you guys are seeing a real problem, period poverty, but how you plan to fight it is not something to applaud but make us wonder, are you giving them these pads cause they lack choices, or are you doing this cause it is something you can sell to any other girl out here?
@JoustineNatala@MaggietheMezzo So instead of championing for an end of period poverty, you champion to send a fellow woman to face the stain of their period every month, this is not sustainable at all, and if it's the idea of re-using that makes you think it is, am shocked.
@JoustineNatala@MaggietheMezzo As a fellow lady, no, no dignity at all; even hospital bandages from a scene of an accident where real blood flows are hard to use, and menses are worse, you can't tell a human being to wash some. That is insane; give them normal pads.
@MaggietheMezzo Exactly, the problem is having people who have never experienced periods lecture you on how to handle periods, crazy world women live in. The blood literally takes on a funny scent when exposed to air. How would you constantly wash that daily, let alone monthly?
Has anyone actually successfully learned a language using Duolingo
Seems like a lot of cute graphics and satisfying sound effects but I'm not buying that it actually works...
